The "Programming" Problem   

All OEM fobs have to be programmed to the car before they can be used. The factory process to do this requires the vehicle PIN code and the ability to navigate a series of timed ignition key strokes.  This takes practice, and the alarm can be triggered if not done correctly.   To make matters worse, electrical contacts within the ignition switch can degrade, leading to unreliable communication that will make programming impossible - even if the procedure is followed exactly and the correct PIN code is used.

Faced with these obstacles, many owners turn to specialty shops—at added cost and with the hassle of removing the seat, security bracket, and immobilizer. The risk of damage and vehicle downtime is real. Some simply give up and drive without a backup. But that gamble can be costly: a failed fob often means a flatbed ride to a shop and hefty repair bill. The F2 overcomes these obstacles, making it super easy to add the backup you’ve been putting off.   Create a spare F2 now while your original fob still works. What Makes the F 2 Different? 

When you add an OEM fob using the factory procedure, you are pairing it to the immobilizer.  When you add an F 2, you are pairing it to another fob.   By learning from a fob that’s been through the programming process, the F 2 doesn't need to go through the process again and you'll be up and running in seconds. 

Setting up an F 2  couldn't be easier:   simply hold the F 2 and a "donor" fob (one that's paired to the car) next to each other and hold both buttons down until the LED on the F 2 starts flashing.  That’s it!  A 10-second hassle-free backup:

The F2 is powered by a lithium coin cell, an improvement that eliminates the leaky 12V alkaline battery and finicky terminals that can corrode and loosen.  The lithium's 10-year shelf life and 30,000+ operations promise long life and easy maintenance.      


How do I use the F 2? 

Just like the OEM fob!   All you need to do is "select" the one you want to use by pressing it 3 times near the car.  Once selected, the F2 works just like an OEM fob: one press to lock, one press to unlock.  You only need to do this if you switch fobs.  You can switch back and forth as often as you like, but it’s really optimum for situations where one fob is the "primary" and the other is the "backup".    

The F2 comes in two frequencies: 315MHz (all North American 993's) and 433MHz (most RoW 993's).  Order the one that matches your system.       

                                                                   Not sure which to order? 

Look at the label on the back of your OEM fob case. If you see "RK116" or "RKY116" you have a 315MHz system.  If you see "RK114" or "RKY114" you have a 433MHz system.  If there is no label on the back, open the fob and look at the small metal can.   The can on 315MHz fobs will normally be labeled "R2622".  The can on 433MHz fobs will normally be labeled "R2632".   If you have access to the immobilizer, the frequency is also noted on the outside label.   If you have any questions, let us know.       

 Bonus: If you also own a Ferrari 355, 360, 456, 550 or 575, you can use the same F2 on either car!
