Driving without a spare fob?
Don't want to pay the "Porsche premium" for an OEM fob?
No PIN code? Trouble programming?
Try the F 1 - EZ
Adding fobs is traditionally done using the factory in-car programming procedure to "teach" the fob’s ID to the immobilizer. This process requires the vehicle PIN code that came with the car and the ability to successfully navigate a series of timed keystrokes. This takes practice, and the alarm can easily be triggered in the process, further complicating matters. Even with practice and the correct PIN code, an increasing number of 993's CAN'T program fobs due to a faulty ignition lock assembly.
Many resort to specialty shops to do the programming for them. But this comes at additional cost and significant effort by the owner to remove and reinstall the seat, security bracket, and immobilizer—not to mention the risk of damage and vehicle downtime. Faced with these challenges, many give up and risk driving without a backup fob.

What Makes the F 1 EZ Different?
Normally, fobs gets paired to the immobilizer. The F1 EZ is different - it gets paired to another fob. Pairing to a fob that's already paired to the immobilizer completely eliminates programming and makes adding a fob super easy. Just send us a "donor" fob - one that's paired to the car, and we'll create a copy that's ready to use out-of-the-box. (If you don't want to send a fob away, check out the new F2 - a DIY version of the EZ ).
How do I use the F 1 EZ?
There is a tradeoff to eliminating programming. Since both fobs share the same fob ID, the immobilizer can only respond to one of them at a time. You tell the immobilizer which fob you want to use by pressing it three times within 10 seconds near the car. From then on, the fob works normally: one press to lock, one press to unlock. The three-button press is only needed to switch fobs. You can switch back and forth as often as you like, but it’s really best in situations where one fob is your "primary" and the other is a "backup", where the "3-button press" would rarely be used.
We currently offer a 315MHz version for North American 993's (compatible with Porsche P/N 993-618-259-02) and a 433MHz version (compatible with Porsche P/N 993-618-259-01). Most, but not all, RoW 993's use 433 MHz fobs. If unsure which one you need contact us for assistance.
