The starter logic for various model years and configurations is shown below. Drive Block was added mid 95.

Non-Drive Block

-MT: starter is wired directly by the ignition switch.

-TIP: starter is powered through starter relay R61 to prevent cranking if the car is not in Park or Neutral.

Drive Block

- The starter is powered through starter relay R61, subject to clutch and TIP interlocks.

- R61 is energized by the immobilizer, not the ignition switch.
